About the Product TaskBoard is a community capacity tool for engaging citizens and managing spontaneous volunteers. TaskBoard efficiently matches people (particularly volunteers) with tasks that fit with their skills, location, and resources. Volunteers can submit task updates (with photos) when finished, and administrators can track all volunteered hours. The app connects admins with people in the app network that have the unique skills, credentials, or availability to tackle their specific tasks.
In 2016 RallyEngine together with Our High River (OHR) a community group, launched the mobile app which included the TaskBoard module, to encourage town involvement and enhance community capacity in the Town of High River, Alberta, Canada. Two separate simulations were successfully conducted in the town over the span of year to effectively test the technology and ensure it met the needs of the users.
Goals and Business Objectives OHR’s aim is to support resilience in both everyday and emergency situations by better equipping its volunteer members. The app design supports OHR’s goal by providing a simple and clean interface that provides users with the ability to quickly add, manage and track tasks in the community. TaskBoard has connected people in the community and encouraged town involvement. I designed the full TaskBoard module that exists as part of the RallyEngine product offering. It was designed to be easily rolled out and scalable to any RallyEngine client in the future.
